The National Museum of History in Sofia is one of the largest history museums on the Balkans with 650.000 objects and largest archaeological and historical archive. The Museum's collections are its greatest treasure. Its contains materials from Prehistoric ages till our days.

A huge collection of archaeological finds from all Bulgaria in four sections Prehistory, Antiquity, Middle Ages, Coins.
 
National Ethnographic Museum

The museum displays folk costumes, fabrics, jewellery, woodcarvings, hammered ironwork, etc. A small craft shop sells crafts, costumes and musical instruments from all over Bulgaria.
 
National Museum of Natural Science

Over one million exhibits showing the minerals, vegetations and wildlife in Bulgaria and other countries; a very rich bird collection. A special exhibition shows live pythons, crocodiles, spiders, frogs and lizards.

Over 20,000 exhibits are on display, divided into six sections: Giant Crystals, Minerals of the Earth, Industrial Minerals, Raw Material Sources of Bulgaria, Gems, New Materials. The museum also holds exhibitions and classical music evenings, which are noted in our cultural supplement.
